Parker’s Art Collection

“I love Pompeii more than Paris” Herman Melville loved to repeat. The charm of such an important city pervades the whole Neapolitan culture and beyond. The Grand Hotel Parker’s is also part of the history of this archaeological gem and a modern Grand tour could start from here. Parker's collection of bronzes are reproductions inspired by the classical statues found in Pompeii and Herculaneum, made by the Chiurazzi Artistic Foundry which since 1870, the same year of birth of the hotel, became famous throughout Italy for the artistic quality of its works. The Dancing Satyr, the Lacoonte, the Ephebe and the Three Graces are just a few examples of classical art present in the common areas of the hotel, a place where beauty is expressed in all its aspects.
